All change for Kubota and AGCO
At a time in the world where we need collaboration and unity more than ever, it’s great to see two dealerships working together to create a clear pathway for both of their businesses.
Chandlers (Farm Equipment) Ltd and Lister Wilder Ltd, have both steadily expanded over the past half century, developing their businesses independently whilst sharing similar family values. The synergy extends to the franchises, with both family-owned companies having grown around the Massey Ferguson, Fendt and Valtra franchises. With Chandlers currently operating from seven depots covering primarily Lincolnshire and the East Midlands, and Lister Wilder operating from eight depots covering Oxfordshire and the south-central region.
They both also partnered with Kubota for their commercial groundcare range of products to give a comprehensive offering across all tractor horsepower sectors and Lister Wilder broadened its base further by encompassing Kubota construction across the south east of England.
With the Kubota business playing such an important part of Lister Wilders £100m turnover and Chandlers (Farm Equipment) Ltd very keen to expand their fully focused AGCO operation in line with AGCO’s brand exclusivity strategy, we are delighted to say that an agreement has been reached that allows for both businesses to develop in line with the strategic goals of their primary franchises – giving both companies a clear and bright future.
Chandlers will purchase the Lister Wilder AGCO Agricultural business, doubling the size of their operation and with the full line AGCO offering of Massey Ferguson and Fendt/Valtra brands distributed through focused channels.
At the same time, Lister Wilder will significantly expand their full line Kubota range of Agricultural, Groundcare and Construction machinery across the south. The move will make them both two of the biggest dealerships in the UK for their respective partners.
Regarding the future of the current Lister Wilder branches, from the January 4, 2021, Chandlers will operate from the premises at Southam (Warwickshire); Wallingford (Oxfordshire); Devizes (Wiltshire); Cirencester (Gloucestershire) and Bristol.
Lister Wilder will continue to operate from Ashford (Kent); Guildford (Surrey); Reading (Berkshire); and cohabit Southam, Cirencester and Bristol while the new Kubota Centres are built in the west.
Both companies believe that this arrangement is a mutually beneficial agreement, allowing each enterprise to continue to invest in the very best of facilities, and in their respective teams going forward, to provide the highest level of customer service for their respective bands.
Chandlers and Lister Wilder look forward with excitement for the future and remain committed to being of service to their many customers for many years to come.
