Industry charity highlights Mental Health Awareness Week

BEN, the automotive charity supporting the agricultural and garden machinery sector, is highlighting Mental Health Awareness Week.

The focus of this year's campaign is nature, and BEN is sharing some useful tips, advice and tools to help you and your employees look after your mental health, as lockdown eases and more of us return to our workplace.

Spending quality time with nature is great for our mental health, it can help reduce stress, balance our mood and help us to feel more positive. There are lots of simple things we can all do in nature to help boost our mental health, physical health and wellbeing. To help, we’ve put together some top tips to encourage everyone to get outside in the fresh air, keep active and feel good: https://youtu.be/aDWizIF1I_U

BEN has also launched its annual survey, to find out more about the health & wellbeing of people who work in the automotive industry. The last year has impacted everyone, both positively and negatively. Each response to the survey will help Ben to make sure we are delivering support and services people need today and in the future.

Last year's survey discovered that mental health issues are more prevalent in the automotive industry than the rest of the UK employed population. And as a result we launched a digital platform called SilverCloud to help people manage their mental health & wellbeing which is free to anyone who works or has worked in the automotive industry.

To ensure we hear the views of people right across our industry, BEN would be grateful if you could share our survey with your colleagues, so that everyone has a chance to have their say. It takes less than 10 mins to complete & all answers are completely confidential.
