Understanding and developing successful, sustainable dealerships
Delegates will learn how to work with dealership financial indicators in enough detail to develop an awareness of trading performance, liquidity, solvency and balance sheet strength. This is an important and often overlooked factor of many roles within manufacturers, where an understanding of dealership performance and financial viability is an important aspect the role. Using a set of 3 case studies delegates will work together to draw conclusions about dealership performance, viability and potential challenges, following which they will identify and present their recommended actions to address any concerns or risks identified in the case studies.
By the end of the course delegates will:
- Understand how to read and interpret dealership accounts
- Understand how to read and interpret dealership balance sheets
- Understand key financial, liquidity and solvency ratios
- Understand common problems and solutions for cashflow difficulties
- Understand common problems with balance sheets
- Understand the role of a 13-week cashflow forecast
- Understand common challenges in dealership expansion
- Understand financial factors affecting performance in rising and falling
markets
Delegates will most likely be working in a management, dealer development or sales management role within a supplier company, or have some responsibility or involvement in dealer selection, management and development, including assessment of ongoing viability and succession resilience.
This course will be most beneficial to participants who currently, or will in the near future, manage a parts department.
This is a two day training course and will take place at the AEA Training Centre at Samuelson House, 62 Forder Way, Hampton, Peterborough, PE7 8JB.
Cost for the course is £320 per day BAGMA Members, £385 per day Non-Members
